“ I promised myself shaved ice while in Hawaii. Found this place not far, within walking distance from my stay while in Kona. It was so good I went twice. I did not expect it to be as big as it was so the second time I ordered the smaller size which still was plenty. I can’t say its value but to me it was worth every penny. The first one I had was the cherry blossom. Which also had macadamia nut ice cream and mochi. Sooo good. The second time I had a Hawaiian blue and mango. The mochi was so good I had a side order. I highly recommend especially since they state they use pure sugar cane not high fructose corn syrup. Made me feel much better about it. Both times cured my sweet tooth and desire for shaved ice. ”
“ Excellent Service! They cleaned the ice-cream scoops because my wife is allergic to macadamia nuts (they have as a flavor). Lava Flow Shaved Ice was more than a snack... it was an experience. Must try! View of the ocean and volleyball court is beautiful from the tables nearby. ”
“ We came for lunch and what makes this place unique is they have local flavors, and flavors that are explicitly natural flavors. This is pretty cool. This means the color is usually a bit less bright but it still tastes awesome! I would come back here because they have plenty of unique options. ”

“ Great place for shave ice! They went a little heavy on the syrup, but it tasted great. Helps somewhat knowing the syrup is all natural, i.e. no high fructose corn syrup. The Lava Flow included a scoop of coconut ice cream and the ice cream was great too. The shave ice is fluffy, not crunchy like a snow cone, which is awesome. The Lava Flow includes bobo-style balls. Balls were better after they were chilled. Two girls were running the stand and they were pleasant to talk to and very accommodating. They could use a closer trash can. ”
“ Genuinely the best snow cone/shave ice I’ve ever had. My boyfriend doesn’t even like snow cones, and after trying mine ended up wishing he got one. They are huge, so a good value for the price. The flavors are so good- not too sweet like many syrups tend to be. I love that they are made with more natural ingredients. I got the cherry and blue Hawai’i- must try!! Also, the macadamia nut ice cream was incredible. So happy we gave this place a chance! If you’re in the area, definitely give it a try. Great on a hot day, after the beach, or after a meal. The two workers were also very sweet and helpful! ”
“ The shopping center locale right by the ocean means a very short walk to sunsets with shave ice in hand. My family tried the ice, ice cream, and iced tea, and all were very good. This was the only place we returned for a second visit on our vacation, as their shave ice was just plain better than the others we tried. Prices are a little higher, but if you're on vacation, pay the extra for better quality. You'll be glad you did. ”
